What to bring and how to prepare
Bring light clothes that cover shoulders and knees for the temples, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water, a camera and some cash for donations or lunch.
- Dress for temples: shoulders and knees covered at Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha. A light scarf or sarong works.
- Entrance fees or donations, if any, are paid on the day. Lunch and drinks are not included.
- Many half-day city tours in Phuket include a short shopping stop (cashew nut factory, honey farm, gem or souvenir shop). Ask us when you book whether your date includes one. Buying is up to you.
- Patong, Karon, Kata and Phuket Town are the usual pickup areas; tell us your hotel when you book and we confirm that it is covered.
- The pickup time is confirmed the day before; be ready in the hotel lobby about 10 minutes early.
- The viewpoints and the Big Buddha are open-air, so bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
- The order of stops can change with traffic and weather, and the times above are approximate.
- Promthep Cape is best known for its sunsets, when it gets busy; ask us if you want it as an extra stop.
- We confirm the date, pickup time and total on WhatsApp before you pay; how and when to pay for this tour is agreed with your booking.
What shifts by season
Phuket, Krabi and the islands of the Andaman Sea have two seasons: the dry season from about November to April, with calm seas and the clearest water, and the south-west monsoon from about May to October, when the sea is rougher, some boat trips are cancelled for weather and parks close for part of the year. Showers in the wet season are often short; what changes is the sea.
