Short answer
On our site the Krabi 4 Islands speedboat tour from Ao Nang is from $35 per person. The national park fee is extra: 200 baht per adult and 100 baht per child, paid in cash at check-in. The price includes hotel pickup in Ao Nang and the Krabi area at about 7:30-8:40 am, the speedboat and an English-speaking guide, a light breakfast, water and fruit, a Thai picnic lunch, mask, snorkel, life jacket and accident insurance. You are back at about 2:00 pm. Fins are not provided.
The price: from $35 per person
The Krabi 4 Islands speedboat tour from Ao Nang is from $35 per person on our site. It is a shared speedboat day with an English-speaking guide, about 6 hours from pickup. The same tour page also sells the Hong Islands day from $40 per person, which is a little longer and more scenic. Exchange rates move, so convert dollars to baht at the rate of the day when you compare our price with a quote in baht.
From means the price starts there for the tour as listed. We confirm the date, the pickup time and the total on WhatsApp before you pay, so the number you pay is the one we send you, not an estimate from the website. Send us the tour, the date, your hotel and the number of guests, and the total comes back in that message.
The park fee: 200 baht per adult, 100 per child, in cash
The national park fee is not in the price. On the 4 Islands route it is 200 baht per adult and 100 baht per child, paid in cash at check-in; on the Hong Islands route it is 300 baht per adult and 150 per child. Bring the baht with you. It is a government fee collected on the day, not part of what you pay us.
Public sources point to the same amounts. A table of national park fees that TrueID published in June 2022, listing the revised rates from 7 June 2022, puts Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park in the group that charges foreign adults 200 baht and children 100, which matches our 4 Islands amounts. Ko Poda, where lunch is served, belongs to that park, according to Wikipedia. We could not confirm an official 2026 rate, so we state what the operator collects.
Why you may see another fee quoted online
Do not be surprised by a different number. A travel blog updated on 23 March 2026 says the park fee for the 4 Islands is 400 baht per adult and 200 per child, collected by the tour provider at the start. The 2022 fee table gives 200 and 100. We cannot tell from public pages which amount applies to which boat on which day, so the fixed fact is this: on our tour the operator collects 200 and 100 baht.
The Hong Islands are a different park. Wikipedia lists Ko Pakbia, Ko Lao Lading and Ko Hong among the islands of Than Bok Khorani National Park, not Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi, so a separate fee for that route is no surprise. When you compare quotes, ask one question: is the national park fee in the price or on top, and in which amount?
What is included in the price, and what is not
The price covers the practical parts of the day: round-trip hotel transfer in Ao Nang and the Krabi area, the speedboat with an English-speaking guide, a light breakfast at the pier, drinking water and seasonal fruit, a Thai picnic lunch, mask and snorkel, a life jacket and accident insurance. Coffee and breakfast wait at the private pier before the speedboat leaves at about 9:00 am.
Not included: the national park fee, fins and a towel. Our page says fins are not provided and suggests water shoes for coral and shells on the beaches, plus swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and a dry bag. Jellyfish appear in some seasons, and long swimwear and water shoes help. Lunch is a picnic on Poda Island on the 4 Islands route, back at about 2:00 pm.
Longtail or speedboat: how the price logic works
The same four stops are sold on two kinds of boat. The March 2026 blog quotes around 500 to 800 baht per person for a tour by longtail and 1,000 to 1,500 baht per person by speedboat, park fee on top, and says tickets are sold at booths on the beach, by hotels and by agents. Wikivoyage's page on Ao Nang says ticket booths with price lists stand at both ends of the beach.
The pages we read do not explain why the prices differ, so treat any reason as a guess. What is documented: Wikipedia notes that speedboats hold more people and travel faster than longtails. Thai PBS reported in February 2017 that new boats serving the Phi Phi park area of Krabi had grown from about 500 to about 2,000 and that operators were undercutting each other's prices. Compare what is included, not only the number. Our guide to longtail or speedboat goes further.
Pickup, payment and confirmation
Pickup is in Ao Nang and the Krabi area between about 7:30 and 8:40 am; Railay and Tonsai guests are collected from the beach. There is no pickup from Phuket, Koh Lanta or Phi Phi, or from hillside hotels that a minibus cannot reach. The speedboat leaves the private pier at about 9:00 am and the tour is back at about 2:00 pm.
To book, send us the tour, the date, your hotel and the number of guests on WhatsApp. We confirm availability, the pickup time and the total before you pay, and how and when you pay is agreed with your booking. Our FAQ says the cancellation policy depends on the operator and is confirmed before you pay, and that if the boat operator or a national park cancels for weather, you get another date or a refund.
What changes the day, not the price
Tide and weather change what you see, not what you pay. The Tup sandbar appears at low tide and you can walk across to Chicken Island; at high tide it is under water and you see it from the boat. The March 2026 blog calls the sandbar a highlight that you cannot influence, so you need some luck. If the sea is unsafe, the operator moves the trip to another date or refunds it.
Season matters too. Wikipedia gives the park's rainy season as May to December and its hot season as January to April. None of this changes the fee. It is a reason to keep your dates flexible if you can, and to ask us on WhatsApp what the sea and the tide look like before you pay.
Who should not book this tour
Ask us first, or skip it, in four cases. The tour is not recommended for infants under 4, pregnant women or people with back or neck problems. It has no pickup from Phuket, Koh Lanta or Phi Phi. Fins are not provided, so keen snorkellers should bring their own. And if you want a bigger scenic day, the Hong Islands tour from $40, with its lagoon and viewpoint, may suit you better; our guide to 4 Islands or Hong Islands compares them.
Children from about 4 years can join the 4 Islands day, because the boat rides are short and the beaches calm. If the Hong Islands are what you want, read our Hong Island tour guide. The Hong tour is back at about 3:30 pm. For the stops, times and packing, see the travel guide and the tour schedule.
